Seems like perfectly sound advice.
It was a punching machine.
Not my image, obviously (we were all hustling through the park to get to the Y) but we saw The Floating Goat in Prospect Park this morning, paddling away and chowing on duckweed. I’d never seen it in action, only docked, and I never realized it has these 2 pairs of toothed sawblades on either side that constantly “chew” I guess to break up lillypads or low-hanging branches or vines?
The power of the goat compelled me to stop and snap a pic.
It has a real ketchup/mustard vibe going.
It’s been awhile since I posted anything here. A few weeks back we went to a local “Oddities Expo”. It was disappointing to say the least; nowhere near as good as the one in Denver, and just as expensive to enter. But they had some fun cars there. Here are a couple.
Next time I’ll share some recent antique mall findings.
Found out that Downtown Minneapolis is now the home of Jack Link corporate offices.
Right next to the Mayo Clinic branch.
Oh gracious I can’t stand those pumps… “HEY EVERYONE LIKES TO WATCH TV SO HERE’S A LITTLE TV WHILE YOU PUMP YOUR GAS HEY YA WANNA TIP? SAVE YOUR RUBBER BANDS THEN WHEN YOU NEED A RUBBER BAND YOU’LL HAVE ONE HEY HERE’S SOME MORE TV FOR YOU! BET YOU NEVER THOUGHT YOU’D BE PUMPING GAS AND BE ABLE TO KEEP WATHCING TV HEY LOOKIT AT THIS TEEEEE-VEEEEE”
And that’s why they call it a Beauty Bush.
(Pictures are always disappointing. I think the sensors are missing something at the blue end of the spectrum.)
If I encounter a pump like that, and for some reason I go inside (snacks, bathroom break, etc.), I make a point of telling the cashier that I wished the pumps had an STFU button.
I drive a Honda Civic that I bought new in 2007. It has been totally trouble free for all 12 years (ok - the AC has been broken for the past 4) and it reached 200,000 miles on Sunday!
A few Antique Mall finds.
I was amused by the smily face on this:
A rather large Betty Boop statue:
and lastly, a baby doll shoved into a corner:
Me, I’m interested in that Pyrex bowl sitting next to the baby doll. Just like the ones I grew up using! It’s part of a nested set originally–I think there were four–blue, red, green, and yellow, as I recall (?). My sister has some of them now.
The place I took that photo is huge, and I don’t get there very often. If I happen to see it again, I’ll let you know.
