3 gallons in those days would get you what, 20 miles?
I remember it wobbling around a dollar, but not much less than that.
I also remember when it was spiking over $4 regularly in the Bay Area, and people whined a little but otherwise went about their day. Duncan Black suggested that maybe that was a good indicator of what we could be raising gasoline to.
If you were lucky!
Now THAT’S an Easter egg.
Super cheap gas in MO, USA
Makes up for the money some people spend on Dramamine.
I have had one of those… They are not that bad.
Me too. I could fill up my car for about $10… those were the days. Now, it’s about $20 to fill up.
Hybrid? Costs me about $35, and this is often the cheapest place for gas in the country.
No, just a small car with a 10 gallon tank… it can get up to $25 or $30 if the price of gas goes up, but I’d say it’s usually around $20.
I seem to remember filling up my VW Beetle for about five bucks.
Bet I’m older.

Did you eat the worm?
They sell some crazy shit at the local 7-Eleven.
I saw an interesting ‘something’ at a 7-Eleven last weekend: A customer there (looked very much to be homeless… unsure… maybe in his 60s) was staring at the hot dogs axially-spinning in the whatchamacallit. Just standing there for a long while, staring. The (I think) Indian fellow who runs the place went over to the guy, smiled and asked him if he wanted to buy any hotdogs. The guy asked for five. The Indian guy: “Okay. One dollar for five. Is that okay?”
!!!
That might have been a kind way to offer charity without making the person feel embarrassed.
OR…a way to make a quick buck on overcooked dogs that would’ve gone into the trash. Maybe?
Did you eat the worm?
Yes. Why get it if you are not going to do that?
OR…
Why not both?
