In the case of the young kid he probably got a deal or inherited grandma’s mini van.
In my case I’ve been driving mini vans for our business for decades because they’re the perfect size for what we carry and I don’t have to lift heavy equipment very high.
Our current 2003 Windstar has a funny story.
Several years ago we needed a new work vehicle, we always pay cash and drive them till they fall apart.
I went looking at local dealers, one dealer said I just missed a really good deal on a low mileage van.
Oh well, we found one at a used cat lot and off we went.
Went out to my dad’s house to show him the good find and surprise, he just bought a much nicer one.
Yup, he was at the Ford dealer right before me.
Several years later he had a stroke and quit driving so I bought it. It has every option available including heated seats and only had 60, 000 miles. It now has more than double that but it’s in very good condition.
We had Mercury Villager that didn’t die until 360, 000 miles.
saw a green heron hiding among the brush next to a swampy pond in the park. Pretty far north (Brooklyn, NYC) for a friendo like this. They went all punk rock on me when they saw me zooming in on them.
