My guess is that when a state GOP finds itself with a candidate who isn’t a cis-het white Xtian male and who’s willing to become a future meal for a leopard, it’s dazzled to the point where vetting completely goes by the wayside. The same thing happened with George Santos/Devolder/Whatever-he-calls-himself-now in NY.
Why didn’t the Dems discover it? That might be a similar situation to NY as well, where the state party is operated by political deadwood, nepotism charity cases, and general incompetents.
The corporate media, you ask? Please, they’re too busy being “civil” and “unbiased” to turn up something like this in a timely fashion.
