Imperial March in major key

Well, this afternoon I was listening to Les McCann and Eddie Harris doing Compared to What at Montreux in the mid-60s. Not perfect by any stretch (and I gather that they were all higher than kites for that gig), but, man, it rocked.

I like Bill Baileyā€™s playing around with keys.

(I think there are better examples, Iā€™m struggling to find them right now)

Sounds like it should be music from an episode of MacGyver.

Theme from the docudrama - The Best Days Of Star Wars - Defeating those delightful Rebels.

Oh, that guy. I know him solely from this:

I canā€™t find a video now, but Bill Bailey introduced me to this wonderfully inappropriate theme to ITN News.

They replaced it before I was born though :frowning:

Star Wars Rebels (3D animated childrenā€™s TV show) already did this, and a bit better in my opinion.

Wow, thatā€™s actually fantastic.
Most transpositions out there are done because they sound funny or cringe-worthy, this actually pulls it off in a really nice way.
Itā€™s kinda like a slow and mopey raceā€¦ perfect for ā€œKylo Renā€™s Themeā€

Exactly, so delightfully cheery!

For some reason I feel like this should be dubbed over the intro to Police Academy

Tim Buckley is another ā€œbetter when coveredā€. Such as:

It sounds suspiciously like Henry Manciniā€™s ā€˜March of The Cue Ballsā€™ or his ā€˜Swing March, ā€™ from "what did you do in the war, daddy?ā€™/

I think this music belongs in an ad.
Maybe a stirring, optimistic ad, with a slogan like, ā€œMake America Great Again!ā€
