I use this online tool to extract spoken word from music, and vice-versa: https://vocalremover.org/
And this to extract noise from spoken word: https://app.cleanvoice.ai (make sure to choose Custom and unselect everything except remove background noise)

Both allow a certain number of free minutes.

These new ai tools have become invaluable in my video editing process.

an “ai” solution to a “problem” which shouldnt be one in the first place.

Agreed. This has a big undercurrent of:

“Good news! We’re here to save you with this tool!”
“Save me from what?”
"From what we’re going to do to you, if you don’t use the tool "

Coming soon to a Youtube news channel near you:

“This video has been reuploaded after a copyright claim.”

Video is of Rishi Sunak trying to announce the election in the rain, speaking over someone outside very loudly playing … nothing at all, thanks to AI historical revisionism

Various SciFi authors: Do not build AI.
Various Cyberpunk authors: Do not let corporations own literally everything.
Orwell: Do not build the Memory Hole.
Youtube: Good news everyone! Thanks to AI, we are allowing you to retrospectively rewrite history by erasing music, (and, eventually, people, locations, and anything else we can monetise) from records of historical events, and you won’t be able to upload anything if you don’t!

. . . or people could stop being absolute weenies about incidental backround music and You Tube could show some gonads and stop enabling them.

Never underestimate how difficult it is to find a solution when there’s money to be made from prolonging the problem.

When the problem is only a “problem” because there’s money to be made from it, even more so.

“you need 10x more tries to specify your search keywords “good” enough to find the information your looking for? great, 10x more ads we can shove down your throat!”
