His case was taken up by a young Paris doctor who set out to see if the boy could be civilized.
I hope the boy won that battle.

IIRC the modern thought is that he probably didn’t live in the woods for a full 7 years but was on the far end of the autism spectrum and was prone to running away.

Could be. The podcast didn’t cover the autism theory. It certainly sounded like he had some kind of aphasia.
