His case was taken up by a young Paris doctor who set out to see if the boy could be civilized.

I hope the boy won that battle.


IIRC the modern thought is that he probably didn’t live in the woods for a full 7 years but was on the far end of the autism spectrum and was prone to running away.


If by “won” you mean he was not “civilized”, then I have good news for you.

A pretty sad story all the way through.

Could be. The podcast didn’t cover the autism theory. It certainly sounded like he had some kind of aphasia.
