In gun violence protest, House Democrats stage sit-in, shut down chamber, and take to Twitter

Oh, I definitely think it’s good for what it is, a protest to get the GOP’s regressive, obstructionist tactics and cowardice in the news and in the public eye. If they put it up for a vote it would have failed and the Dems could have bludgeoned them, but instead the Dems are using the GOP obstructionism against the GOP.

This is one of the major problems with the modern Democratic party - all words and flash, little substance and meaning.

They need a lefty challenge.

Yes, and isn’t it great to see the GOP’s lack of message discipline and national staff exploited so effectively? They were like Keystone Kops but less organized, no leadership, confused and contradicting each other. The dems worked together like superstars. I can’t wait for what’s next.

Utterly luscious headline:

Democrats stayed up all night fighting to expand unconstitutional Bush-era powers

The Democrats have outed themselves—again—as a centre-right party. I’m frustrated by the Republicans’ mindless obstructionism and infantile refusal to compromise. And I like the Democrats’ form of protest here. I just wish they were protesting for something that will actually reduce deaths by firearm in this country.

As I see it, the only major differences right now between the Dems and the Republicans is budget allocation and choice of civil rights to champion.
