In the future, astronauts might play MMORPGs to fend off boredom

What makes meditation inherently better than playing a game?

I donā€™t know Bob Ross or slopping paint on canvas, but I imagine art in space will be as creative in its logistics as in its subject matter. I paint virtually on a Nexus 7 now. Thereā€™s a learning curve, but there always is for new media. And I wouldnā€™t sell any long-range mission short ā€“ youā€™re thinking zero gravity, but Iā€™m thinking that a spaceship intended to be inhabited for any extended period of time will have some portion that is (perhaps not earth-gravity but) centrifugally engineered as plus-gravity. But who knows? Maybe zero-gravity conventional art (easily stored, as canvases roll up to almost nothing) will become an entire new sub-genre.

And so far as space goes ā€“ I once moved an 88-key keyboard to a new home in an F/A-18F. Which only proves that all space is relative. I hope to take that philosophy to Mars.
