It looks like our old one, which was a White Rogers, I think. Ours came off the wall mount pretty easily. Can you do that and check the back for a model number? Ours slid up off the wall mount

Yup, White Rogers, type 1F80-361.
It turns out that it’s screwed on, with what look like custom screw heads. 
I took the whole front cover off, and there was a sticker on the inside of it. Two AA batteries too, good to know.

The physical thermostat is identical but produced for a number of different brands.

Yeah, the lack of a brand name molded right into the cover seemed like a give-away.

And since the treads are black and fairly dense, they will thaw faster because they absorb solar radiation more than white (porous) wood or white steel.
