Of all the restaurants in NYC you pick Balthazar? There’s nothing wrong with it, of course, but I have to ask what your other favorites are.
I wouldn’t call it my favorite, but I like it. They make really good breakfasts. (I don’t live there)
Eh, the place is usually packed wall to wall with under-dressed tourists and over-dressed folks who think that it’s going to be a super-elegant French bistro once you get inside.
I occasionally eat at the bar there, where yes, I do get the Steak Frites, and watch European tourists leave shitty or no tips.
Having family living in the East Village, we’ve strolled past here several times while visiting. We have a running bucket list of restaurants to try, so we’ll add this to the list. Thanks for the rec!
