So, I’ve never been able to figure this out about VPNs: how does a user know that they’re not just a front for a government, or for cybercriminals? They never tell you who’s behind the VPN; they never give a physical address where they can receive service of process in case you need to sue them; they just ask customers to trust them with the most sensitive information.
