farewell, Fish. you filled my childhood home with laughter, and for that i thank you.
Finally, I now have more rhymes than Abe Vigoda.
I 'goda hand it to ya!
Love the Barney Miller clip. Jack Soo was taken from us too soon.
Although I think the same thing could be said of Abe Vigoda.
I got one in the castle and one in the pagoda
you know I got rhymes like Abe Vigoda
now both the author and subject of that rhyme are gone ( ._.)
Vigoda sleeps wit himself.
So long, and thanks for all the Fish.
According to multiple cops I knew, Barney Miller was the most accurate depiction of actual policework seen on TV (up to and including Cops) - no other show showed the mountains of paperwork and the hours stuck at the station.
Also one of my favorite theme songs of all time.
(edited to use a not-crappy youtube)
A buddy of mine had a family full of women that were super into the show E.R. /in love with George Clooney.
One of the family brought home a boyfriend/fiancee/date who actually worked in a hospital to a family function. Someone asked him the loaded question “Which hospital show is closest to real life.” Without a moment’s hesitation, he replied “Scrubs.”
The Barney Miller theme is one of the best ever. Right up there with Rockford Files and Night Court.
Damnit, I was hoping the title question was rhetorical.
Joke about him still being alive had gone on so long that I seriously thought he was going to live to be something like 130.
Part of which probably comes from the fact he looked 94 in 1978
It was, wasn’t it?
Edit: maybe not, since it was immediately answered?
No, no no no!
He’s outside
looking in.
Seemed like for detectives they made a lot of arrests for the kind of stuff a uniform would respond to.
