Is Marjorie Taylor Greene suggesting Civil War in new poll?

If we choose two options, does that mean we partition Empty G first?

This semi-sentient skintag needs to just go away.

Again. How did the work in Yugoslavia? THERE. IS. NO. PEACEFUL. PARTITION.

It’s a bullshit suggestion for people who believe that greater violence is inevitable, meaning they’ve already given up.

Or India/Pakistan…

Let’s not forget the mess the India/Bangladesh border used to be.

It took 40 years for the two countries to agree to hand over their enclaves, or 70 years if you include the time when Bangladesh was East Pakistan. Why does anyone assume America would be easier?

So, let’s see… historical examples that we can pull from to show that you can’t just uproot people and expect them to “move peacefully”… Yugoslavia, India/Pakistan/Bangledesh/Kashmir, and let’s add to that the Turkish-Greek population swaps after the great war… That’s just from the 20th century and off the top of our heads…

Oh! How about the ethnic cleansing of Germans right after world war 2? Or the post-war pogroms against Jews returning home after surviving the Holocaust in Eastern Europe? Palestinian displacement after the founding of Israel?

Is it just me, or are borders not a great thing for human peace and tranquility?

If you’re mad and find yourself yelling that you want someone launched into the Sun, take a moment, calm yourself, and remember that it takes a lot less Delta v to launch them out of the Solar System instead. You can be mad, but that’s no excuse to be inefficient with propellant.

And indeed later, for East and West Pakistan.

I wouldn’t rate it as probable but the chance is too high to dismiss it as a fantasy. The real problem isn’t “bad faith” so much as that they have no unified vision of what they really want. Some want a “return” to a fuzzy vision of the 1950s that never was, and never could be. Some want a full on white ethnostate. Some want to see them liburals whine. Considering their demonstrated inability to go along with the majority, I see no reason to believe they will unite behind whatever the majority of their rump state wants. In a more general sense, this is why revolutions usually end up with the biggest assholes in charge. Once you have unleashed violence, those most willing to use violence tend to take control.

The only thing I dispute in this statement is that your partition “plan” counts as a serious one.

Also what have the aliens done to deserve having Empty G inflicted upon them?

Yeah, no. I am not having a V’ger situation with this one. Ditto whatever the hell might come back out of the Mariana trench.

I dunno, even Cthulu would at least have the decency to drive us out of our minds in a way that didn’t hurt as much as listening to Marjorie speak… and he’d get to her first, so… win/win?

Via Newsweek:

“Earlier in October, a survey by the University of Virginia’s (UVA) nonpartisan Center for Politics pointed to a desire among some for the country to be split into red and blue halves.”

A majority of respondents (52 percent) who supported Trump either “somewhat” or “strongly” agree that it was time to split the country along party political lines. In comparison, 41 percent of people who voted for President Joe Biden agreed with the idea.”

The feeling is mutual it seems said the divorce attorney.

I’ve always been a fan of Venus for this purpose.

A fairly short trip if you time things right. Low delta-V requirement. Passengers get to contemplate the extreme discomfort to come.

sedition
sĭ-dĭsh′ən
noun

  1. Conduct or language inciting rebellion against the authority of a state.
  2. Insurrection; rebellion.
  3. A factious commotion in a state; the stirring up of such a commotion; incitement of discontent against government and disturbance of public tranquillity, as by inflammatory speeches or writings, or acts or language tending to breach of public order: as, to stir up a sedition; a speech or pamphlet, abounding in sedition.
The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition.

So, just how do the words and/or actions of this person [and many of those in her party] not constitute outright sedition?
I sure hope that Jan 6 Commission actually does something.
Dragging people in who refuse supoenas would be a good sign; so would charging You Know Who with criminal obstruction [and dragging him in, too].

This would be the best option of those given. Sinking her in a toxic waste dump would be more appropriate [and cheaper], though… and would cause no further harm to the environment.

Your studies should have taught that appeasement doesn’t work & Fascists always need more Living Room.

Fuck that. I’m not going anywhere. Besides, the term is an oxymoron.

Some of those people hoard guns & ammo. Preparing for the zombie apocalypse in their bunker, I suppose.
It’s not like the rest of us are totally unarmed…

Sounds good. In Theory.

Czar Abbott of Texas has ordered that there are to be no vaccination mandates, including for private businesses.

Got news for you. The Coup is ongoing, and there is no longer a ‘Republican Party’.
I know it calls itself that, but lots of people call themselves ‘christians’, so…
It’s the FDC now, in thrall to You Know Who.

In case you missed it earlier: Fuck that. I’m not going anywhere.

Sorry. You try the one, you ensure the other, since that ‘partition’ of yours would only be temporary.

It already did. About 160 years ago. For some, it never truly ended.

Gave up on the ‘peaceful partition’ then, eh?

EDIT: tyop

I do take your point, here. I think that we DO need to make some fundamental changes to our political system and media to stop those that are inciting violence and extreme discontent. How can we reign in Fox News and OAN without losing freedom of speech?

There is no reason think that the insurrectionists will calmly settle for ONLY the states where they are actually a majority. They don’t recognize that they are a minority in the US, they’re not going to recognize that they are a minority of VA, let alone NC.

Do you WANT a supervillan? Because putting evil people on a radioactive island is how you get supervillains.
