The oldest wreck in the Great Lakes pre-dates colonization. It was likely a canoe of some type.

Now that would be a find that I’d love to see. Some kind of craft, perhaps filled with Gainey Fluted points or other Clovis culture artifacts to help identify the people in the region some 10-12,000 years ago.

OK, if you’re going to be particular, then may I explain to you that a canoe is a kind of boat, not a ship, so it’s a boatwreck you’re talking about.
