A four-year-old American girl held by Hamas in Gaza was released on Sunday, President Joe Biden said, as the militant group said it had handed over 13 Israeli hostages, three Thais and one with Russian citizenship on the third day of a truce with Israel.
The killing of a Palestinian farmer in the central Gaza Strip had earlier added to concerns over the fragility of the truce. The farmer was killed when targeted by Israeli forces east of Gaza’s long-established Maghazi refugee camp, the Palestinian Red Crescent said.
Violence flared in the West Bank where Israeli forces killed seven Palestinians, including two minors and at least one gunman, late on Saturday and early Sunday, medics and local sources said

Police said the three were walking on Prospect Street when they were confronted by a white male with a handgun. The suspect was on foot in the area when he discharged at least four rounds from his pistol without speaking.
All three victims were struck, two in their torsos and one in the lower extremities.
Burlington Police have confirmed all three victims are of Palestinian descent.
They said two are US citizens and one is a legal resident, and two were wearing keffiyehs at the time of the assault.
Police say there is no additional information to suggest the suspect’s motive, such as statements or remarks by the suspect at this time.
The victims were transported to UVM Medical Center. Two victims are stable, while the other one has much more serious injuries.
Police haven’t identified a shooter, and nobody is in custody.
They have recovered ballistic evidence that will be submitted to the federal database and have conducted and are re-conducting neighborhood canvases and witness interviews.
