It took four years lying underwater to get a perfect shot of a Eurasian beaver

Yep.

I know many female perverts who also enjoy looking at Eurasian beaver.

Or I’m just really comfortable with innuendo and using body parts for humour.

I grew up with films like the Carry Ons and the Doctor series. TV shows like The Two Ronnies, Open All Hours, Up Pompeii, and anything with Les Dawson in it. (Gods, not a week goes by where I don’t lament that loss!) Radio show repeats of I’m Sorry I’ll Read That Again, The Navy Lark, and Round The Horne.

Basically, lots of smut.

Beaver feels like more of an Americanism to me - I probably first picked it up from Airplane. But regardless, I’m more than happy to use genitalia as a source of humour. If I were going to start being prudish about it I’m probably about 36 years too late. So I’m not very inclined to start, as I quite like dirty jokes.

Sadly, it seems that others here are mortified at my use of body parts in humour. As such, I think I’ll simply leave you with an apology for the misunderstanding, and slip off to enjoy some innuendo elsewhere.

So sorry you’re offended, and have a good evening. Bye!

In my previous office, we had beavers living in the middle of our courtyard area. We didn’t even notice until they all came out at once one day.

I am also comfortable with body parts humour. I just don’t pick my moments in a knee-jerk, Pavlovian manner – or try not to.

And nobody said anything about being offended.

There were plenty of opportunities to learn stuff on this thread – about the European beaver, about zoology, about language, about feminism – but bypassing them all and making fake claims of “offence” was always an option too.

Although I guess it isn’t fake, since you’re offended and uncomfortable with being challenged.

ETA: Bonus points for claiming a poster is uncomfortable with body humour when the first word in their post is “bullshit”.

…any furry eurasian beaver pics that you found would have been vintage, before they were nearly wiped out…

I think the headline would also work well in the vice section of any local newspaper.
