Users out there are slowly, very slowly, coming around to the fact that the current state of internet “commerce” doesn’t care about message AT ALL. The only thing that matters is a “transaction”. Any transaction. Doesn’t matter what. Just get the fucking info in front of someone, hope to the advertising gods it’s a real human on the other end of the line, but assume it’s not, and get them to click in any way, shape or form. Done. Move to next. This is the unfortunate monstrosity birthed after the meeting of the erroneous notion that the internet is like TV and the stark reality of most every non-tangible thing being freely available.

Geez. I didn’t go this year for the first time in 20 years due to a project. I’m talking to my boss on Monday about this. If I know him, and I do, our team will skip it. He’ll make calls to the organizers, assuming he hasn’t already.
