My favorite exhibit was the humpback whales, but they took that out in the mid-80s after some hippie jumped in the tank. Probably a liability thing.

You could travel to Quebec City or Montreal – wonderful to visit in their own right – and then rent a van (you’ll still need a passport and visa) to go south to some of the New England states. That might be a good first outing, and not too offensive.
Definitely stay away from the southern half of the U.S. if you’re not a fan of ‘do what we say’ people, and especially because you’re not 'Murican.

But I’ve read your comment to my husband, and he agreed. I’m sure we are going to do this, seen a lot of the world all ready. (both, long story). He has been, as joung, to the states. I’ve been to other countries, he to. No idea now how that will inflict with entering. We will find out in time.
