Jeff Flake slams Trump: "An American president who can't take criticism...is charting a very dangerous path"

Trump doesn’t really have an agenda. He changes his mind constantly, and has no idea what is in the bills Congress passes.

Flake is a Republican, so he is going to vote like a Republican. He doesn’t want to piss off the Party, even if he’s not running for re-election. I’ll give him credit for calling out Trump, even if he’s not perfect. Who among us is?

I agree with what he says make no mistake.

But, here’s what the GOP and trumpland hears:

It means nothing. Hollow words from a MAGA acolyte.

Now, if he had followed his speech by introducing impeachment proceedings…

Too bad those seeking re-election can’t do the same.

EXACTLY.

This is a calculated move to win Democratic voters for the midterms, and nothing else.

Arizona here. I sent home a message today giving him praise for his statements today and I did so in his previous stump speech but I also called him on his voting record. I’m trying to give him his positive reinforcement. He does suffer from McCain syndrome.

I’m sure this will be dismissed as Flake News.

He always struck me as kind of a flake

Just because he’s not running doesn’t mean Arizona Republican voters can’t write him in.

There’s no way there’s a 2020 primary unless Trump decides not to run. The Republicans are full-tilt, that’s what got them Trump in the first place.

You seem pretty confident that he’s gonna’ come out the other side of the Mueller investigation.
…maybe.

I’m not convinced. I think once the serious polls start coming out in 2020, showing a landslide for the Dems, there would be no reason to continue full tilt. This assumes the Dems take the House in 2018, and poll well to take the Senate in 2020. At some point, even the most devoted GOP politicians will have to admit that Trump is destroying the party. (This doesn’t mean his base will abandon him-they don’t care about the GOP.)
