Jeremy Corbyn overpays his taxes

Pointing out that different members of a party hold different positions and pursue different policies isn’t a “no true scotsman,” Frank. Blair shifted Labor’s policies to the right as “New Labor.” Pretty sure you know this even if you pretend not to. Corbyn’s dumped that rightward tack, and is in line with the policies Blair rejected. Pretty sure you know this too. I’m an American and somehow have sorted this out. If either of these are surprises, maybe you should read up on it before incorrectly accusing others of a fallacy. You’re either shockingly ignorant or mendacious, neither’s a great way to help persuade us to take your concerns about Corbyn’s mistake in filling out a tax form very seriously.

Yes, anything I decide is final and that’s that. And Matter a fact I have just decided you are a telephone, deal with it.

So you just get to decide an action isn’t “wrong”, and that’s that?

I keep hearing about “Astroturfing”. Does any one know what it pays and how one gets the gig?

Blair was responsible for removing Clause IV from the Labour manifesto, that was a pretty good indicator of his politics vis a vis socialism right there.

If you get a gig at a major stadium, it can pay millions, but the material and labour costs aren’t negligible. In the case at hand, you not only have to supply the fake grass, you have to be the fake grass.

The hidden costs of that are likewise not negligible. You find yourself fake grassing in all manners of public fora, whether you would normally frequent those fora or not. You pretty much have to convince yourself that fake grassing is as good as the real thing, much like convincing yourself that a minor tax return error is worse than offshoring millions. You do encounter the problem that your friends start counting their fingers after shaking hands with you.

And then there is the lack of steady income and benefits, but, because you are a contractor, you do become familiar with tax return forms…

I’m sure that posting a Mark Steel column will satisfy Frank.

Edit; forget it. I’ve seen @Frank_Fisher’s twitter account. I have no desire to continue a debate with him.

Thanks, excellent stuff that.

You really are a sucker. You’ll note Corbyn’s miraculous conversion to pro-EU policies yesterday? Like your Democrats, Labour is a party of filthy crooks and parasites, and always has been

Masterfully persuasive opener, now I really respect you and am very interested in everything you have to say.

It appears as though you somehow think that Corbyn taking a position on Brexit after previously not holding one is a contradiction of something I said or a vindication of something you said, and I’m sure it feels that way to you, though, sadly, it isn’t. As with your earlier mangling of a “no true scotsman” fallacy, your new collection of loosely related words and concepts which you seem to think prove something are again incoherent.

It looks like you imagine there’s some win-condition here where if you just BS enough your team gets a point, but it doesn’t work that way. You’re just making more and more of a fool of yourself for no reason. Good luck with that, and bye, you’re definitely not worth my time.

PMSL @Frank_Fisher

By all means, dude, continue wasting your breath here… It’s amusing, and ties up your time which could possibly be spent more effectively elsewhere.

Fake grassing, however, is a socially useful profession, not the least a tick on the body politic…

One does get the impression that, if so many of these… “non-parasitic” Tories hadn’t been born into wealth - Cameron, for instance - they would have been failed used car salesmen. (“For Christ’s sake, get that pig off the bonnet and quit doing that! I’ve counted at least four visitors turn around in the car park and head back out!”)

Christ, are you still at it? Why? No one cares, or believes you.

Personally, I, along with a couple others here at least, consider Corbyn a reactionary old fuddy duddy, and think he’s a little too right-wing, but have at it. Witness all you like.

I’m hoping that Boing Boing puts up a few more articles with “Corbyn” in the title to bring @Frank_Fisher to visit again. He was value for money.

Yup. A great help down on the farm when manuring the fields.

Don’t worry, the internet has an inexhaustible supply of angry white dudes with right-wing politics. When I am inevitably made Supreme Leader For Life of Globe-Spanning Cultural Marxist Dystopian Hellscape I’m thinking of rendering them down for useful hydrocarbons. I shall process them into feedstock to make 3D printed statues of myself. One for every collective! The Cult of Personality has to roll with the times, you know. Bronze casts are so last century, don’t you think?
