I got a nasty paper cut yesterday, dang that hurt.

Use a chapstick on the cut. It closes it immediatly and the pain is also less.

No. Use some type of super/crazy glue.
Personally, I stick to Loctite.

The only trouble is, he’s a new kind of daredevil. Evel Kinevil and his ilk presented themselves as superstars. American kids might imagine themselves flying through the air in a star-spangled jumpsuit, but he was different enough that not many kids imitated him.

Knoxville dresses like a “regular guy.” He does exactly the same things as Kinevil, but instead of covering himself in glory, he deliberately covers himself in shame. “Look what a moron,” his act says, and thanks to YouTube, millions of kids go out and break their heads diving into beehives or whatever.

Dude needs a cape.

It’s a Darwin thing, we should be grateful.

A dude tried to run a scam on my bestie once at our store and so my friend had to put him in a full nelson to keep him from running with the money. I was behind the counter. There was a .22 derringer thing and pepper spray. I could not psych myself up to shoot the guy, not in that situation and probably not in any situation. But I was mindful of that first Jackass episode where pepper spray instantly dropped Knoxville, so I figured great, this’ll be over quick.
It did not work the same way at all. Since he was being held, I walked right up and I sprayed the shit directly on his face point blank, figuring: game over. He kept struggling unabated, so I did it again, which was enough to overpower my buddy whose face was obviously right next to his. The guy was impaired but able to half-jog away.
We’re pretty sure he was on crack.
We blew a fan out the door but the air in the shop would make you cry the whole day.
Anyhow, bottom line was the pepper spray was plenty strong but if your target is on crack they can power through it so be careful.

I’ve been pepper sprayed by cops. It pretty much sucked, but I can see how you could power through it if you were on something that blocked pain, since the debilitating effect is just pain, you can still stumble around and stuff.

“Man talks about injuries he received while deliberately injuring himself.”
Uh ok. I’ll give it a pass. If I’m going to hear about self-inflicted injuries, I’d rather hear Chris Burden talk about the incident with the volkswagen…

Except he injured himself for our entertainment. Surely that has to count for something.

When CA had a required safety course and permits to carry pepper spray, I think they said 5% of people are immune to it. My quick Google Fu didn’t come up with any hard data, but lots of stories by cops who were unaffected by it in training sessions, (and stories of cops who were very affected by it, of course).

So I have to say that makes me think of pepper spray as a gamble. 95% chance it will help you get out of danger, and 5% (or maybe more) chance of pissing of a violent person even more. :-0

I would like to give him a big thumbs-up!

(Chris Burden crucified himself to the top of a volkswagen as part of an art piece, if you’re not familiar.) I like my self-harm with more dimensions to it.

no one watched Evel to see him land the jump. we watch for the fail. for the pain.

it’s the Roman Coliseum. we watch for the spectacle

Knoxville and his crew delivered what the people want.

it made him money, it hurt his body, but after centuries, the formula still works.
feed a few chrisians to the lions, … and no one cares what shennanigans the Senate is up to.
