Does anyone know why MIPI DSI-connected displays for the rPi appear to be somewhere between ‘vanishingly rare’ and ‘nonexistent’?

They eventually got a MIPI CSI camera module released; but even the made-to-work-with-rPi bit kits always seem to use either the HDMI or the composite video outs. It’s not as though DSI panels are uncommon in embedded applications(that’s why the chip the Pi uses supports it in the first place); but they seem to be unobtanium at retail.

I immediately thought of David Kano in https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmos_1999
