I honestly think Kavanaugh is so clearly unqualified that it shouldn’t matter* if he did reprehensible things as a teenager.
But apparently, tabloid accusations are a necessary step nowadays. Lawmakers seem to believe “not currently serving time” is sufficient qualification for all the highest positions of government.
*EDITING TO CLARIFY: I am not saying sexual assault does not matter, I am not saying accusations don’t matter, I am not saying women don’t matter, I am saying he’s not qualified regardless.
I honestly think part of the reason the Republicans are trying to rush this one through is to get him on the bench before any more victims come forward.
Which is hilarious*, every time he says it, since Ford says she doesn’t actually remember whose house the party was at. So I guess he never went to any parties when he was 17.

Edited to add: I don’t think it’s weird that she can’t remember whose house she was at. I can remember a Halloween party when I was 16 or so. I remember what I was dressed as (genie), I remember a couple of the boys lifting an ottoman I was sitting on saying it was my “magic carpet”, I remember dancing to “Stairway to Heaven.”
I don’t remember whose house it was or how I even got invited since I am pretty sure I only knew a couple people there. I was in drama and community theater, so probably one of those people, but I am not sure.
