So, I thought I’d be nice and post an “in this context, ‘Mexicanx’ means …” explanation - but I have absolutely no idea. It’s only sporadically used online, mostly in relation with this project, and it seems to be entirely interchangeable with “Mexican”.
My best guess is that it’s a way to construct a Spanish-style noun that’s gender neutral - but that’s already not a problem in English, so I don’t know.
