we always called it “Kraft Mac & Cheese” anyway, so this suits me just fine.
I call it Mac n Chee, so i’ll be waiting for the next rebrand

Let’s just be clear. The proper name of this dish is ‘macaroni cheese’. No ‘and’ no ‘&’ and no shortening of macaroni to ‘mac’.
You USians may proceed as you wish, but I will not tolerate the already started, creeping USisation of our culinary language here in the UK.
If we’re going to get all grammarian here, shouldn’t it instead be “cheese macaroni” as it is the cheese modifying the macaroni, rather than the reverse?

ITYM cheesy macaroni. I suspect that would carry too many unwanted suggestions about quality, though.
When they change the spelling to Cheeze for legal reasons is when you should worry.
This is what I was thinking. Macaroni is the word you’re worried about? Mac n cheez is what it will be in five years.
