'Kung Fu' reboot looks great

Fair enough.

But of course, trailers often play up the most sensationalistic aspects of a show or movie, which of course, usually includes violence. We’ll have to wait and see if they take the approach of the original show or lean into the violence.

I loved that they casted Keye Luke, who had gotten his start as Charlie Chan’s ‘number one son’, as the master.

Phillip Ahn was great, too, as Master Kan

James Hong had a ton of roles in that show, too. The IMDB says he was only in 8 episodes, but it feels like he was in half of them…

After that clip, I’ll plan to do a rewatch instead. The scenario of the reboot just doesn’t appeal to me in the same way that the original did. Maybe some stellar reviews later in the year will change my mind. :woman_shrugging:t4:

I would much prefer if the show’s premise was the main character volunteers to escort elderly Asian people and the bulk of each show is just her beating the living shit out of chuds who try to commit hate crimes against them.

There has been two seasons so far, but because of all this covid mess the series has stopped and there is no mention of a third season from Cinemax so far
