So, we found the line… and it was necrophilia :face_vomiting:

Progress :interrobang:

Was coming to say the same thing.

Thanks LAPD for putting Necrophilia into the social conscious.

Shocking. What next? The thin blue line not standing up against prosecution of other misconduct?

Finally, a police union has identified a kind of police officer it will not defend.

“Live boy or dead girl” line, confirmed.

So necrophilia is a no-no, then? Good to know.

But racism, bigotry, and murder still A-OK?

Another bar “so low,” it’s not even on the earth’s surface anymore.

I’m guessing the PBA wanted to defend him (can there be any doubt, really?), but the suits couldn’t get past the bad PR.

“Cop shoots unarmed man in the back 4 times.”

“Meh…”

“Then he groped the corpse.”

“ZOMG!!! What a sicko!”

Y’know, I’ve beaten minorities, framed people, stolen money, raped hookers. No problem.

But fondle one corpse . . .

Damned civilians, they just don’t appreciate how tough it is here on the Thin Blue Line

There is other misconduct they haven’t defended against. It depends on how clear-cut the misconduct is and this one was pretty clear-cut.

A statement from the union: “To be clear, the corpse was no hottie. Maybe a 6/10. This shows really poor judgement on the part of the office…”

Shooting an unarmed black man in the back of his head through a car window while his family was in the car.

Driving up to a preteen boy and icing him on the playground in less than ten seconds.

Clear cut?

So the Union’s presumption is that this cop is guilty of the charges against him? Because they would certainly defend him if they thought he was innocent. Which suggests they might presume other police are also guilty, but they choose to defend them anyway.

Necrophilia might make the police look bad

Latinos have comprised the largest ethnic group within LAPD for quite awhile. The dept. overall is 60% minority. The latino % may still lag behind that of the general population but it’s close. As of at least a couple of years ago, though, top brass still leaned Caucasian as is the case of the new chief.

They could clean up their approach to recruitment (Breitbart? Really?). Only recently they put up streetlight banner ads showing cops in full battle gear like an army commercial. I think that attracts the wrong element for our communities.

So the police union is officially on the record for treating corpses better than minorities and people with mental health issues and pets, eh?
