I’d love to see AOC utterly demolish MTQ, because she’d do so effortlessly. It’s just that the issues go far beyond whether Qbert would follow the rules of a debate. I mean, to begin with, Qbert doesn’t actually want a debate - AOC is a high-profile hate-figure for Republicans; attacking AOC gets her attention. If she’s serious about wanting to be in a room with AOC pretending to debate, it’s only because she figures attacking AOC in person would get her even more attention. Absolutely nothing about how Qbert’s approaching this is in good faith - even if she got AOC in the same room, she’d never actually debate the issues based on the facts (she doesn’t know or care what the facts are, as they just get in the way of being outraged, which is her entire thing). She’d grandstand, change the subject and lie, not debate - it doesn’t really matter if she’d only do it in her allotted time or not.
AOC knows Qbert isn’t reaching out in good faith, and has nothing to gain by going along with a woman who, let’s face it, tried to have her killed a few months ago. I’m pretty sure she’s savvy enough to avoid feeding the troll.
