Laser projected Christmas lights

F these things. I see them all over our neighborhood now and it’s just showing the rest of the neighborhood that you’re too lazy to actually be traditional and string lights up. How long did that take you to install, 30 seconds? How much did it cost you, 50 bucks? You know how many actual lights you can get for 50 bucks? A lot. And these things are getting stolen left and right. So good luck.

Putting up lights is a huge pain in the ass, i would rather use a projector any day… especially over those tacky inflatable lawn ornaments people like to use.

Shitty disposable lights that don’t look very good and aren’t designed for outdoor use.

I can barely get a string of bright LED bulbs for $50.

Because of the highly-directional nature of laser light, light pollution in the traditional sense is not an issue. The problem with traditional bulbs is that they’re omnidirectional, which floods scattering particles in the atmosphere with light. If you broaden the definition of light pollution to include e.g. effects on pilots or hazards on the ground, that’s another question.
