We will have to disagree on that then. As some one who lives “north” i’d rather keep to standard for winter action. Idgaf about more summer hours of daylight. We get plenty already.
A lot of people say you descended from your parents. If that’s true, why do you still have parents? Actually, much closer to “you and your cousins descended from the same grandparents, so why do you still have cousins,” but that requires some thought.

Europeans and Americans is the classic analogy. There is a real question you can ask about why some species should be so very changed from their ancestors, while relatives survive fine with little difference. This is just a really easy case…other apes do well in the forest and we left.
Also, I am worried that this might be a temporary situation, and for future generations the answer to “why are there still apes” will be something like “captive breeding programs”.

Are there any current Senators or Congressmen who maintain dual citizenships?
I don’t begrudge anyone who wants to keep their options open, but generally those folks who openly want to be able to emigrate at a moment’s notice aren’t also the same folks running the government.

LOL this guy is scared of the public masses having a separate informal lever of power over the government? Justice Thomas should read some sociology or anthropology and less crackpot originalist and textualist nonsense legal theory. Societies have always had these levers of power and from time to time they’ve been used for good or ill which shapes civilization to this day. This is why I find legal “scholars” frustrating as much as I do economists as they both lack a sense of historicity to their arguments. Law is no more timeless than is any human language. Get with the program or expect the program to get with you, Justice Thomas.

Ted Cruz & Michelle Bachman famously renounced their Canadian and Swiss citizenships. But Ted also has Cuban citizenship by birth through his father- which Cuba does not allow people to revoke.

To be clear, though, I was aware that a number of legislators were born outside the U.S. Being foreign-born is not the same thing as maintaining dual citizenship that’s the issue for Dr Oz in the article I linked to. For example I believe that representative Omar is able to receive a security clearance.
Though Oz actually served in the Turkish military and has ties to Erdogan and government appointments from him. He maintains business interests with state owned businesses and Erdogan owned businesses.
“ Oz also came under fire in 2017 when he chose to represent President Erdoğan’s bodyguards after they assaulted a group of Americans protesting the Justice and Development Party in Washington, D.C.”
His relationships deserve a higher level of review.
As to whether foreign born reps have renounced their dual citizenships; use the google I guess.

that’s rough. who’s the apes in that scenario? ( it also maybe confuses the ideas of country, race, and evolution - things which are already misunderstood and weaponized )
maybe a better analogy would be dogs and wolves. because i’d bet even zealots would agree god didn’t invent the labradoodle.

Magna, the large media-buying firm owned by Interpublic Group, has enlisted NewsGuard, a company that examines the veracity of news content and the ways in which it is produced, to grade news programing on TV for the parent company’s media clients, which include Johnson & Johnson, Grubhub and Merck, among others. NewsGuard, which enlists journalists to determine whether a news outlet is accurate and transparent about the information it provides, will devise “nutrition labels” for more than 20 networks and more than 100 programs, says Allie Kalish, executive vice president and managing director of strategic investment and accountability at Magna.
In 2019, a committee of the 4As, a trade group that represents ad and media agencies, set out a new position outlining that “content that includes hate speech, supports terrorism, or graphically depicts death or suicide does not have a place on any platform or content provider online under any circumstances; however, the content of news covering such sensitive subjects should be re-classified based on each brand’s risk tolerance.”
That’s quite a change from concerns in decades past. An advertiser’s biggest worry used to be having a commercial appear adjacent to coverage of a major airline crash or war coverage. That issue, by the way, remains an active one. Applebee’s in February found one of its commercials appearing alongside early scenes of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – and protested. “It never should have aired, and we are disappointed in the actions of the network,” the restaurant chain said in a statement.
