But what if she believed that, oh, something like, Black lives matter?

Many casual republicans just vote for whoever is wearing their team jersey. Sure, I voted for John Wayne Gacey, but, you know, he was wearing a Dallas Cowboys jersey. Gotta support the home team, right?

It’s every bit as awkward as you would expect.

When he was going over all the supposed β€œevidence” (supposed Vanderbilt sex dungeons where he was molested as a child, his mother wearing β€œa necklace from Guatemala”, which the CIA helped overthrow, hence Anderson Cooper is a government operative) I was half expecting him to turn to the camera and say, β€œwhat the actual fuck?”

More likely she’ll become the ex-president’s running mate.

Well, yeah. It’s just the idea that he thought Trump wasn’t a worthy recipient of his vote in 2016 but somehow four years of incompetence, blatant venality and sloth persuaded him that, dang it, Trump was his guy!

"This film is called Capturing the Flagβ€”literally. That’s what you have here. You do not have people winning. You have people cheating; which also is a sign of our power if we can organize. Because people do not cheat you if they can beat you in a straight up fight.”

On-brand, the IOIYAR brand, that is.

WTF do we have to do to shift that Overton Window back to the point where trying to have political enemies killed is Unequivocally A Very Bad Thing?

Even more consequences:

The local GOP is very tiny, and has a long tradition of domination by bizarre fringe elements, way before the rise of the Trumpies. This chair who is resigning is by reputation one of the less insane members.

They’ll never learn, but it does amuse me that there’s probably now two morons roaming the halls demanding random employees’ phones and Twitter passwords.

This is where the article lost me:

No one could have predicted the coronavirus pandemic

Except for, you know, all the people that did. Epidemiologists had been beating the drum for years saying that a deadly global pandemic was inevitable and we need to be prepared. The Obama administration wrote a whole playbook on how to deal a pandemic based on lessons learned from swine flu and Ebola. Trump ignored it completely - because Obama.

Not only that, but Trump took steps before the pandemic to kneecap the CDC and otherwise cut funding for infectious disease research because fuck science, we have coal to burn! Then when COVID-19 became a thing in order to save face, he tried as hard as he could to downplay or otherwise ignore COVID-19 until it became impossible to do – and even then his lack of response or his own irresponsible behavior (mostly just to stick it to the l*bs) caused untold amounts of unnecessary death in its wake.

Wait, are they talking about the Trump administration? I mean, 400,000 deaths should add up to the death penalty, right? Add in treason, and it’s all right there. Maybe this Kilmeade guy is alright…/s
