Denial is not a virtue. Pretending racism doesn’t exist is not being antiracist. A lot of racists seem to think it gives them plausible deniability for some reason, as though racism exists only if people talk about it.

I found the first season of a PBS doco called Eyes on the Prize from 1989 on Amazon. It’s chilling to hear all the unapologetic demands for segregation, the blatant and intentional attempts to dehumanize Black people. And it all echoes SO HARD with what I hear from the right wing every day.
