Indeed! I came here to say this (although perhaps not as eloquently). What on earth would 12 spindles hold? Don’t cds come in varying capacities? They could’ve stated hours of film, or even GB.
I have nothing to add to the discussion about the actual creepy crime and hearty punishment, but another line from the article caught my eye:

So if life+150 years is fair for this guy what sort of sentence is appropriate for these guys:
Just to be clear, this was not the Philadelphia school district. The first line of the Guardian story says Philadelphia ( along with that link shot) but it later explains this was Lower Merion. Lower Merion is a suburb of Philadelphia, and a rather affluent one at that. They have their own school district
