My children thank Dr. Rosner for publishing this list well after their birth. :imp:

There’s also Preserved Fish and Supply Belcher (same era, but not sure he was a Quaker).

Reality competes with the many fictitious names in Sean Tejaratchi’s Liartown. Just a few:

Melanoma Donofrio
Sturm Grimteat
Carna Eviloni
Brythynda Shadowmilk
Moamar Papusa
Harmonica Roughskins
Bran Crumbo
Korma Bedboundary
Benadryl Earthfriend

I wonder if Elizabeth Poope and Elizabeth Special were friends or frenemies.

Can anyone here explain this ancient trend? I just don’t get it. I recall that the patronymic was usually related to a trade back then, but what on earth did a Poope or a Kill do?
