Merry Clayton’s part makes the song, for me. Even the tremelo guitar and Watt’s drumming on their own couldn’t make it as great as it was with her astonishing voice.

Yeah. Drop Merry Clayton out of the mix, and the song is without chills. Hearing her isolated made my hair stand on end.
