On edit: According to the website, apparently not. Huh. It really seems like it was made to accommodate more strings.

Are we sure Chaldean music consisted of out-of-tune drones? If I was Gilgamesh I would have offered a handsome prize to the goatherd who could improve the damn things.

The reconstruction of the lyre is impressive but like the music an highly interpretive work, as any archeologist will tell you (unasked).
