She’s on a box
I know that predicting elections is a mug’s game - but Electoral Calculus are one of the better ones.
It’s an indictment of how shitty FPTP is with LD losing 0.6% of the vote share and predicted to almost double their seats, and the Green gaining 2.5%+ and not one extra seat.
I can respect her checking Truss’ hand for a weapon.
Can we cal her misTrust yet?
There is not only one singular progressive wing in the Labour party. Corbyn was the only choice we were given other than Third Way liberalism. We didn’t have the power or conditions to elect Diane Abbott in 2010.
(This is a few years old now, but still close enough, anything that isn’t right is progressive and the Soft Left is Third Way progressive.)
The left wings of the Labour party have mostly moved on from Corbyn and he wasn’t leader for that long (compare his time with how long Tony Benn was de facto leader of the left wing factions). I hear he is now living rent free in Third Way liberals heads.
The Tory Borg collective is busy today
I’d still maintain that even one day as Labour leader, especially during the critical period when Brexit was being pushed through, was far too long for Corbyn. He was no Tony Benn for sure.
Still, the past is the past (something Corbyn was incapable of acknowledging). Do you see any hope for actual, forward-looking progressives in the party or is Labour now a write-off in terms of competent and effective advocacy for the basic rights of all British people?
“Riding Out Der Stuermer”
Starmer is purging them from the party.
I’ll take that as a “no”, then. Reading these stories about the UK lately, my heart really aches for people there. In some respects the situation seems more dire and hopeless than what we see in the U.S.
But so much for the “free” press, eh?
I see Nick Brown’s had the whip suspended for something unspecified today. I’m surprised the supreme fence sitter has managed to offend anyone.
