It reminds me of the mysterious disembodied intelligence from the Outer Limits episode “It Crawled Out of the Woodwork”. It’s an unsettling effect.

What’s interesting is that when the effect briefly clears for a few frames, I just see an empty room. There’s no one there performing the role of the “real” nemesis.
Assuming this shot isn’t simply a reverse shot with the nemesis out of frame, could this effect be intentional?
