Part of me wants to say that if you think a car like that is impressive then you deserve everything you get. However, I’m sure everyone has some kind of interest that most people probably don’t get and, although you would probably never admit it, negative comments secretly make you feel validated and part of some exclusive club.
Come to think of it - at the extreme end of the scale this pretty much explains neo nazis.

Saw something like this happen to a stretch limo on a long speed bump a couple of years ago. Stayed put until the tow truck arrived.

To each his own. Most things built in hacker spaces are even less useful. The best art cars are rarely street legal. Big tuner car show like NOPI nationals are like the NSFW Southern version of Maker Faire. Almost a redneck Burning Man. But with way more drug money.

Old-school bike mods:
Want lowered handlebars? Just turn them upside down and hug the tank.
Can’t reach the gearshifter from your new rearset footpegs? Just flip the lever backwards. As a bonus, that means that you now have a race-style reverse-pattern gearbox as well.
Want a louder, freer-breathing pipe? Just use a mallet and a broomstick to smash out the baffles…
