Lustful Donald Trump signs woman's chest in crowded bar (video)

His treatment of the woman is indeed gross misogyny. A misogynistic action doesn’t not require a woman to be non-compliant. Misogyny =/= only sexual assault. That is highly reductive, and frankly is an insult to the real world challenges ALL women face in our modern society. Trust women to know it when we see it.

Bullshit. He’s signing it in a very specific location on the woman’s body.

It’s telling that you don’t see how this intersects with misogyny. It’s a root part of the movement. Let’s not forget that it was in part built on misogynistic attacks against a specific woman. It’s like saying that him screaming about Mexicans being rapists isn’t actually racist, because “it ignore the cult like aspects of the movement”…

Dude - THEY CAN BE ALL THAT AT ONCE. it’s not some weird ass compartmentalizing that you seem willing to do here…

Of course this was sexist. Does anyone think he’d sign an attractive young man’s body if given the chance?

Even if he would, it doesn’t not make this less misogynistic…

One important point being that there is soooo much contextual history with Trump. To call this a one-off is like calling the biblical flood a spring shower. It can’t be dismissed, it’s so damn obvious. :man_shrugging:

But yet, despite all that, we still have to “prove” that there is misogyny at play, in Trump’s specific actions and in the movement altogether… supremely frustrating!

“This big, strong, attractive young man comes up to me, and he’s crying. He says, President T***, my life can only be fullfilled if you sign my bare, sweaty, muscle-ey chest.” Really, he said that! So what can I do? Say no? But that’s what I did. Ew, gross.”

Why are you defending a known sexual predator publicly treating a woman like a trophy?

To add to what others have responded, I’m not going to address the headline thing because I don’t think that’s very important to the ongoing conversation, but to your other point I’d say this:
Look at this young woman asking a former President to sign her tank-top clad chest. Watch how he then grabs and signs her bare arm. To hoots and hollers. Yes, it was all “consensual” but think of the culture she and the observers grew up in and live in where this is all seen as not only a “great interaction” in their view, but also “not sexist enough” to warrant attention by people like you, who are actually thinking about this stuff, but from a different perspective.
From my POV, it’s a yucky, sexist, misogynistic culture, and it’s a reflection of what the GOP wants to perpetuate. So when women see it and point it out, maybe step back and consider the larger context.

This should horrify people. Men, sitting in judgement of women, and ignoring them when they say they are being mistreated.
