He (presumably) hasn’t even heard what they’re saying, and he’s already angry about it.

Meaning he saw the letters MSNBC and didn’t like what they were going to say, no matter what they said.

Every ginned up “scandal” was only distracting us from “the real scandal”, and then that was the fake scandal when a new “real scandal” came along.

A hurricane is a legitimate news story. Even Fox News is reporting on it.

That was my guess. There may also be an element of climate change denial, a Florida gentleman of my acquaintance is adamant that the news should be reporting weather, but not trying to ever connect it to climate change.
