what is sarcasm?
I was just⌠umm⌠testing which way the wind was blowing.
He looks contrite!
After it happens to your kid, then you get to opine on whether itâs âde minimisâ.
Ugh. Give him a minimal sentence, but it is NOT ok to touch a child of whom you are not a parent or caregiver (or received permission from a parent or caregiver) in such an intimate and invasive way. Itâs not sexual and he shouldnât be on any sort of sex offender registry, unless he has other history, but itâs an invasion of personal space and a violation of the body. The charges heâs been hit with sound exactly right to me. Both of these are class B misdemeanors.
A class B misdemeanor is punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
Sounds exactly right to me. Keep your hands off other peopleâs children.
Butbutbut⌠statutory willying! Think of the children!
Are you actually insane?
The guy gave a kid a wet willy for crying out loud - unless Iâm missing something he was likely just interacting with a fellow patient in the waiting room. This pedo scare bullshit is a horrible, distasteful trend that I at least thought was isolated to Daily Mail readers.
That mugshot tells a story of a guy doing something (conditionally) innocent and everyone around him overreacting - he looks distraught. Likely far more affected by the reaction than either the child or its parents were by the incident.
Oh and Iâll fix thisâŚ
Ugh. Give him a minimal sentence, but it is NOT ok to touch a ~child~ person
Is it nonconsensual wet willies youâre against or just anyone other than you interfering with your offspring?
6 months in jail you say! No wonder half your population is in prison with an attitude like that. My god - tell the man he was an idiot and let him be on his way.
What sentence would you recommend for a âgot your nose!â? is 3 months sufficient?
Edit: I mean, if Iâve missed a detail, and this guy chased down the kid, separated him from his parent (the only human allowed to interact with the child, of course), held him down, and prodded him in the ear with a wet finger repeatedly - while the child shouted âno! please no!â while sobbing, then I mean, yea, thatâs fucked up. But does anyone think thatâs anywhere close to what happened?
Edit to add: Also, I donât know if Iâd rather slap this fool or tweeze his eyebrows.
What an odd thing to say - he actually looks like he has quite well looked after eyebrows, now Iâve looked - seriously, theyâre very neat! Although Iâm not sure of the relevance either wayâŚ
But more importantly, sterilize him for giving a wet willy!?!?! I mean it was dumb, and a bit inappropriate - but sterilize him!?! You would issue this gentlemen with chemical castration for touching a childâs ear with a wet finger? I donât evenâŚ
Seriously did I wake up in crazy-land this morning? Is this the GOP effect?
There may be some funning around in this thread.
Oh totally - but I think the ones I responded to were serious - Iâd be thrilled to be proved wrongâŚ
Nobody wants to be on the side of the sorry schumck giving random kids wet willies - but, man. That mug shot has so much sorrow and regret in it - I actually think itâs poor taste to have even posted it along with the story (but I tend to feel that way about any mug shot tbh, especially when the person hasnât been convicted of anything) /tangent
Fair enough about him about the charges. But I have to wonder if in this day and age, just merely posting this online would be punishment enough. The internet shaming of people has become disgusting as well. It isnât like it is just âclass B misdemeanorsâ. With those you can move on with your life. This is going to haunt this man for a long time, if not the rest of his life when it comes to job prospects, dating, friends and family. He got a much harsher sentence by the court of public opinion.
How dare people find my casual pornography use at work sexual! THE NERVES OF DEM WIMMINZ ruining someoneâs ability to masturbate in public.
basically I assume he is this kind of idiot http://www.theonion.com/article/man-who-encourages-childs-destructive-id-referred--27367 so 6 months for being an idiot seems much, but if that is what he is being charged with it will probably be plead down to c or d. At any rate it is very unlikely that he would go to jail, but he would end up being on some probation and having to pay money for being an idiot. That also seems a bit much, I mean really this manâs life might really be ruined (loss of job, media attention) when what he should have gotten was something like âhey jackass, you are an adult now. do not give wet willies to kids, itâs not funny.â
I guess itâs true if he did it to my kid I would probably punch him in the nose given my bad temper and recent stressful life. But I wouldnât call the cops on him.
was this the site with the horses?
Well it is a mugshot.
So⌠how weird/rude/prosecutable is it for me to continue sticking my tongue out - playfully, and at a distance - at children who are old enough to be confused but too young to verbalize or engage with me? (2yo-4yo ish)
Note, this is how I cope with the fact that amble and vocalizing vermin, errr, offspring, are allowed to run rampant around the grocery on their way to becoming idiot votersâŚ
Also, this is an ankle-bruising abortion of an idea at best:
it doesnât take a weathermanâŚ
Yet another article vilifying someone while giving no context. Had they been talking, playing, joking around while waiting in the waiting room, perhaps kid was bored and miserable and this guy was trying to help out by interacting with him and being silly, or was it actually the case that some random stranger just appeared out of nowhere, poked a kidâs ear for no apparent reason, and then vanished mysteriously into the night? The former seems much more likely than the latter.
What is wrong with us?
The former is apparently exactly what happened.
Police said he approached a 4-year-old boy who was playing with his mother in the waiting room of a business on Center Street and stuck his finger in his mouth, then put it in the boyâs ear.
He drove off when confronted by the childâs mother and employees of the business. Police pulled Migani over to confirm his identity and later arrested him for having inappropriate contact with the boy.
Yeah Ian - He looks like he has been crying.
Most likely because a mob of tyrannosaurus parents & cops told him he would be charged, convicted & sent to prison as a pedophile then be raped over & over. This guy shouldnât have done this - what was he thinking ? - but people (male & female - women get this shit too!) who have done absolutely nothing wrong - or have behaved badly - but nothing remotely sexual - have been subjected to this shit.
But with this guy - maybe he has issues upstairs or heat stroke?
~c
btw - Joking in my last line aside - Iâm a guy who hasnât ever been justly or falsely accused of anything like this. I have no horse in this race. Just sayinâ.
