It’s horrifying, fascinating, and thrilling all at once to realize how brilliant physicians and brilliant home mechanics end up using similarly creative kludges to make things work well enough, long enough to get to a more permanent fix. Zip ties and duct tape make the world go round. At least temporarily.
Well, my dad continued to smoke after a few different cancers and a collapsed lung. (His doctors removed half of one.) Granted his cancers were probably from Agent Orange exposure, but the smoking did not help.
