Man tries to remove Trump sign from front yard, receives electric shock

Several months after the 2016 election, there was one house in my neighborhood that kept a huge Trump MAGA banner up, tied between two pine trees in their front yard. I had to drive past it every time I went to the grocery store, and I kept getting saltier and saltier about the election results. My county has ordinances about how long you can keep temporary electioneering signage up, so I submitted a complaint. Within a week, that fucking sign was gone.

Actually, that’s using existing laws to remove an eyesore. D, R or Green, leaving up election signs until the elements deface them isn’t cool.

Placing a deadly mechanical device on one’s property

I’ve had a fair amount of experience with electric fences, and I wouldn’t call them deadly.

I think it’s pretty clear that, unless there was a local City ordinance about it, putting an electric fence around the sign would not be illegal, just like putting an electric fence anywhere else on your property wouldn’t be illegal. Doing it to the sign directly seems like a grey area. I would say this falls much closer to a motion activated sprinkler than a deadly booby trap.
