Don’t bother. Just use a Shop Vac. You still have to plug the little holes, unless you just disconnect the u-joint and put it directly on the pipe. Quickly and easily sucks out the gunk, which is nasty, so you want to be careful where you dump it after. The vent pipe allows air to come into the system behind the clog, so you aren’t sucking waste up out of the sewer or septic system, but it’s still a good idea not to run it too long. The vac hose will shake visibly as the gunk comes out, so just stop as soon as it settles down. I’ve done this a couple times on my bathroom sink and it works like a charm.
