Firearms ownership and racism: the classic American pairing.
" A man has been charged with second-degree murder in the US after he allegedly shot and killed a 20-year-old woman as the car she was in mistakenly drove up the man’s driveway."
-BBC
Can this be the beginning of the end of Stand Your Ground Laws, please. Governmentally encouraged paranoia shouldn’t become the future.
Just to clarify, this shooting happened in Clay County, Missouri not Kansas. There is a Clay County, Kansas but it’s about 150 miles away from Kansas City where the shooting happened.
Assault? Two shots, one after he was down, seems more like attempted second-degree murder.
Cause: meet effect.
If the only goal was racist outcomes, they could have arrested the guy and let the DA come up with some bullshit reason to let him off the hook in a 30-second press conference.
This seems more akin to changing the slogan on patrol cars to read “There Is Nothing You Can Do To Stop Us”.
To the best of my knowledge New York doesn’t have a stand your ground law, thankfully. Not that that made any difference to the unfortunate young woman who was killed.
who said that?
racism is – unfortunately – able to walk and chew gum at the same time. couple it with capitalism and unaccountability, and well, hello modern america.
It’s not a true Biff Tannen 1985 Hellscape unless white guys are threatened with guns on porches, until then, it’s just sparkling racism.
Wow … Just wow… he survived that… Good luck to them!
Republicans: “How about if we just legalize killing all the pedo-commie ‘wokes’?”
Apparently it is easy to spot 'em; just rely on gut-feeling.
It’s Clay County, Missouri.
Heck, don’t even have to do that - you can distinguish them by the protests they’re in, if they’re at drag events (or are otherwise obviously non-cis-het), or by their skin color…
@orenwolf! Correction!
