The years haven’t been kind to D.B. Cooper. (Or was it the air miles?)
His face looks like the starting generic face in most RPGs. People just find him to fade into the background, I guess.
Bruce Schneier (fixed spelling) coined the term “security theater” in the early 2000s for post 9/11 security measures at airports. I’d say they’ve been doing an excellent job of proving him right.
For some reason the headline had me thinking this guy was a fugitive beforehand, but it sounds like his only crime is being a stowaway.
This is far more of an indictment on Heathrow and British Airways than it is on him, imo.
That’s Bruce Schneier.
I guess London airports don’t have the equivalent of TSA, which makes you show your ticket and ID before you can get anywhere near a gate.
I think one thing to remember is the date. He cleverly chose christmas day. A super busy time.
People travelling are going to be impatiently trying to get home or holiday destination, while most people working are going to be rushed and stressed.
So probably there is a tendency to rush things to get done as soon as possible to go home for the holidays.
