I’d be inclined to make an exception for anyone who feels like doing a little culture jamming by describing someone shooting a cop as an “officer-involved shooting” and seeing what the response is.

I’m guessing that doing that goes against the unofficial Thin Blue Line style guide; despite being precisely as true and accurate as the more typical usage.
