Map shows Middle East based on who actually holds territory

After decades of strife and struggle, and our lessened reliance on that oil, it gave Obama an opportunity to try to pivot US attention away from the region, much to the Right’s and Netanyahu’s dismay. I expect Trump to get us mired back in that sand trap in pretty short order.

I don’t remember there being anything like Rojava in Lord of the Rings or the Silmarillion.

Ya gotta read Unfinished Tales, dawg.

The map appears to have Shi’ite “Houthistan” labeled as an “Islamic State satellite”.

  1. Daesh disdains and kills Shi’ites. The Houthis are not IS affiliates.

  2. Use of the Turkic term -stan for every non-sanctioned political entity in the Greater Middle East does not speak to… impartiality. Or even honesty. It stinks of western enthnocentric hauteur and is intensely manipulative.

Along with all the other problems that people are pointing out:
The territory controlled by Islamic state just happens to end at the Syria / Iraq border, does it?
